Case Study: Mood Weather — The Weather-Driven Oracle App
Role: Solo Product Manager & Developer
Context: Mobile Side Project (Exploratory Product Design & Technical Spike)
Tools Used: Cursor IDE, Gemini (API Context & Strategic Brainstorming), OpenWeatherMap API, Tailwind CSS.
Traditional weather apps are utility-driven and sterile: "Partly cloudy, 14°C." However, climate and environmental factors have a direct, documented impact on human psychology and daily energy levels.
Mood Weather was built to bridge this gap. It is a mobile web app that combines hyper-local, practical weather data with an emotional forecasting engine. The goal was to validate a unique product concept: emotional weather data—translating barometric pressure, UV indexes, and cloud cover into actionable, psychological "vibe forecasts" that help users plan their day around their mental well-being.
